Kashmir Files: The Bitter Truth
Film ‘The Kashmir Files’, written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, presents fictional storyline but one of the most horrible event ever happened in India. It is the depiction of ‘The pain of Kashmiri Pandits’ that how they were tortured, harassed and forced to leave their homeland.
The movie shows the event
of 19th January 1990 which were particularly vicious. It is shown
that the extremists were yelling the slogans of “Convert, leave or die”.
According to this, the Kashmiri Pandits were given options to convert
themselves to Islamic religion, leave Kashmir keeping women behind or die. It
is mentioned that thousands of people were killed including moderate Muslims.
But still, some people
criticizes the film that it has some propaganda in it, it has wrongly shown the
political part or the filmmakers has not described the sufferings of Kashmiri
Muslims. Also,
Few political parties say
that it is being supported by BJP for their own interest. But why should we always relate the things with politics
and make it a big issue? Why can’t we keep it simple? The film is just showcasing
the truth, so why can’t we accept it? People are not fool that they are
crying watching this movie. There is something appealing in it.
At last, we should know
that it is a film. It is the medium through which the director has shown the
pain and trauma through which the Kashmiri
Pandits have passed. Though it is a reality but still a movie, so no one is
getting punished nor getting justice for whatever has been done. This is for
the people who do not know what had happened there at that time.
